Craving for authentic Japanese food like sushi, sashimi, ramen or udon? Well, if you’re residing in Laguna “Ippon Yari Japanese Restaurant” is the place to be. The venue expresses a very Japan-like atmosphere and that’s why most of the regular customers are native Japanese.
It was my first time to enter a Japanese restaurant with traditional settings. We tried different kinds of sushi and Japanese dishes but above all I really love the sweet and savory taste of “California Maki”. California maki is usually made inside-out containing cucumber, crab meat, and avocado or mango. The outer layer of rice in an inside-out roll (ura-maki) is sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds, tobiko (flying fish eggs) or masago (capelin fish eggs). Surprisingly, they will serve huge servings of noodles or ramen and some large bit-size pieces of sushi and makimono which are beautifully prepared in sets with pickled ginger, or wasabi (spicy green paste) .
Moreover, their menu inlcudes a wide range of Japanese dishes from Sushi, Sashimi, Makimono (rolled sushi), Temaki sushi (cone-shaped roll sushi), Chuka Teishoku (with rice, soup & side dishes), Chukamen (ramen dishes), Udon (thick, white wheat noodles), Soba (brown buckwheat noodles), Donburi (rice bowl dishes), Zousui (Japanese congee stock flavored with miso & soy), Curry rice, Yakimono (pan-fried/grilled dishes), Agemono (deep-fried dishes), Yakitori (barbequed chicken in salt or tare/sauce), Nabemono (pot dishes), Okonomiyaki (Japanese-style hot plate pizza), and salads. They also serve Sake (Japanese liquor) and other beverages.
It is located on the second floor at Piazza Building, Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Santa Rosa – Tagaytay Road Laguna, Don Jose, Santa Rosa Laguna. It is open from Monday to Sunday at 11 AM to 2:30 PM and 5 PM to 10:30 PM.
